All about FaceBook Marketing with retargeting

For example, an auto dealership gets a large number of visitors who search for specific makes and models, but they do not click the call to action “schedule a test drive.” The dealership uses this information to create ads that provide additional sales information on the cars the visitors were looking at, which further helps develop the user’s interest in the vehicle, leading them closer to converting users to take action, such as schedule a test drive or value trade-in.

Timing can also be seasonal. Retailers that do most of their business during the Q4 gifting season can create a custom audience targeting those who don’t buy from them year-round. Susan uses the example of women visiting a men’s retailer site based on clicks from a holiday gift guide. Knowing that traffic from this particular piece of content is likely driven by people who aren’t shopping for themselves, you can retarget this audience during other gift-giving times of the year such as Father’s Day.

Upload your vehicle catalog with details such as make, model and year, then automatically generate ads that show the most compelling inventory to the right audiences. Use automotive inventory ads to direct people toward vehicle detail pages, lead submission forms or other valuable places—and continually show your most relevant vehicles to potential auto buyers. 5 Ways To Dramatically Improve Your Amazon Product Listing Conversion Rate FAST
I honestly feel there’s still a place for some ads, but they have to be more relevant and valuable to the consumer. This is why we see more money going to content marketing, influencer marketing, referral partnerships, and other methods that are designed to deliver actual value to audiences. This shift isn’t going to stop until ads start being more valuable for the consumer.
Be consistent in naming URLs and use referral URLs to easily differentiate among content grouping. You can then build a separate custom audience inside of Facebook for each group and let them grow over time. When you’re ready to market to a given subset, you can amplify information or products to people based on the content that they’ve consumed from your site. Because they’ve already indicated some interest in your brand, they’ll be more receptive to your ads.

An example of this is B2B products. You might draw prospects to your site with a white paper they can download, and then offer a demo. Following a demo, you can schedule a free trial and so forth. As you break down and look at the sales funnel, you get a sense of what the audiences need at each individual point of conversion along this multi-step process. Each audience will have different needs at each point and you want to be able to speak to them differently. Facebook Marketing: CREATING HIGHLY ENGAGING POSTS on FB

It’s possible to further refine your custom audiences by combining any of the ad sets created—based on the time lag data, content grouping, and location in the sales funnel—and use this information to set exclusions within Facebook around any pairings. Most of the time, this allows you to discover a variety of different segments. However, it can also help define smaller audiences and the best piece of content to show them next.

Facebook retargeting campaigns can be used by nearly every Facebook advertiser with a Java-enabled website with steady traffic, but are best suited for online-based businesses, such as ecommerce. This is because online businesses typically have a high volume of site visitors, giving the advertiser a lot of insightful information from the Facebook Pixel.

Another business might create a retargeting campaign that displays a specific product ad after a user has been to that product’s webpage. For example, let’s say a user is shopping for a new car and searches for Jeep Grand Cherokees for sale in their area on AutoTrader. Later, when they go on Facebook, they see an ad from AutoTrader for a Jeep Grand Cherokee for sale near them that fits their search criteria, rather than one of AutoTrader’s generic ads. Start with a brand awareness ad that’s simply meant to introduce you to your audience. Sure, some may click and convert immediately, but there’s a good chance many won’t. That’s ok though- you can run a retargeting campaign that shows your ad to users who saved or engaged with your previous ad. At this point, you can focus on conversions or lead generation a little more heavily.
At each of my last three keynote addresses, I was asked this simple question: “What do you think is going to happen with marketing next year?” There are a lot of marketing speakers and sales speakers already shouting out the trends for 2019. It’s still only summer, but people are already trying to look ahead and see what’s around the curve. And I understand why: The world is changing a mile a minute, and it’s hard to scale, differentiate yourself, and maintain trust in the ever-changing marketing world. The more you can plan ahead, the better equipped you feel to manage those changes when they happen.

The site developed organically, bubbling up in Facebook groups where people found themselves connecting to buy and sell goods. The trend inspired the social network to establish Marketplace as an official commerce destination on the site.Taking the retail pulse from its hybrid perch as a social network/commerce vehicle, Facebook Marketplace sees Instagram-powered and artificial-intelligence informed shopping experiences, as well as “creators,” the next iteration of influencers, gaining momentum in 2019, according to Deb Liu, Facebook marketplace vice president, in an interview.

Facebook will do whatever it can to protect itself from losing its users.  Which represent Nearly $10B a quarter in advertising revenue.  Sure the advertisers are paying that bill but without users to click the ad, Facebook would not have the revenue. And Facebook is much more interested in protecting the user experience than it is in your ad dollars. How to know who stalk/visited your facebook profile
Group 3: People who make it all the way through the checkout process to your “thank you” page. The Facebook pixel on your “thank you” page will add its visitors to another list, which you can exclude from your other targeting groups to ensure you’re not reaching people with Facebook ads for an offer they’ve already claimed. You can also create an entirely new campaign to cross-sell them on another course or add-on, or even use this group to create a lookalike audience of your ideal customer to find more people likely to purchase your product or service.
Simply put, everybody else had gone digital, and this company saw an opportunity to do something different. Now, I’m not advocating that businesses should try to resurrect print marketing or do something only because it’s uncommon and not because it resonates with their audiences. But they should consider integrated campaigns and creative distribution tactics that focus on ways to engage audience members that their industry competitors might not be considering.

Whether someone is ready to book a trip or is just looking for travel inspiration, match their intent with items from your travel catalog. If they were browsing hotels but didn’t make a reservation—or if they were looking at flights but didn’t book a trip—travel ads let you show them relevant ads based on their specific dates, destinations and other trip details.
This is a very good question. From my experience, it doesn’t matter what industry you are in, or how much marketing budget you have. I would always suggest that if it’s the first time running the ad – Budget $5-10 a day(estimated average daily reach of 540-2,700 people) and run the ad for 7 days. This will give you feedback on how the ad is converting, and how it’s resonating with your audience.

Facebook executives probably feel that allowing users to force their friends into Groups is the only way to get a critical mass to use the feature (remember that 5 percent figure for Friend Lists). The company used a similar strategy to turn its Photos feature into one of the largest repositories of drunken party pictures the world has ever known—although a minority of users actually upload photos to Facebook, anybody can "tag" his or her friends in these pictures, and a whopping 95 percent of users have been tagged.
Set out by creating as many custom audience buckets in Facebook as you can brainstorm and allow them to start populating. Not all of them will perform and some may take a long time to fill. You’ll have to make adjustments as you go along. Susan notes that the minimum number of people you can run a Facebook ad set to is 1000, so she often combines ad sets that are smaller than 1000 until she populates one that reaches the minimum. (Editor’s Note: The audio of this interview mis-quotes the minimum audience size as 200. This article reflects the correct minimum audience size.) UTM Tracking in Google Analytics | Lesson 13

Facebook retargeting can be used in a number of ways and is based on your advertising goals, or objectives. There are four main goals in retargeting ads: build awareness, reminder advertising, close a sale, and invite repeat business. When retargeting is used in conjunction with your advertising goals, ads become very effective and drive your return on investment up. Facebook Login & Graph API | JavaScript SDK
Customers seldom go to a website and purchase after their first visit. It’s even more rare for a customer to convert after clicking on just one ad, especially if they’re unfamiliar with your brand or your price point is relatively high. In most cases, there’s a long journey to get customers to convert and Facebook is uniquely positioned to handle the buyer’s journey along each step in a way that other channels can’t.

A computer sales and repair store is running a promotion on external hard drives and they want to use Facebook to advertise this sale. To avoid wasting ad spend, they target ads by user’s needs. Using the info from the Facebook Pixel, they create a custom audience of those who have recently visited the blog post on how to back up a computer. They then create an ad specific to those users, explaining the benefits of external hard drives and the current promotion.

Hi Rob, thanks for the advice. I have been playing around with Facebook ads for around 6 months now and despite the fact that I get some good traffic at reasonable prices I am still getting a high bounce rate and a relatively low conversion rate. I think part of the issue may be that I have not optimized for mobile/desktop so I will take your advice and put a bit more focus on making the ads work better for different technology.
