All about FaceBook Marketing with retargeting

If you’re just starting out with Facebook advertising, the best way to manage your ads is to use Facebook Ads Manager. The Ads Manager is Facebook’s free campaign management tool that’s available to all marketers. By the end of this chapter, you will know how to use the Facebook Ads Manager and how to set up your first Facebook ad campaign. (We’ve created an in-depth guide to show you exactly how to create Facebook ads!)
Customer service is essential, but not everyone feels comfortable talking to a real person on the phone or has the time to do it over email. That’s what makes chatbots so convenient. These are little AI helpers integrated into websites that can answer questions and fulfill requests quickly -- and many can accomplish this without sacrificing personality. Social media generally is a vast space to market in. Even more so with Facebook. There’s no shortage of metrics you can use to target the best prospects. Location and gender are just two of the ways you can narrow down your target market. Facebook also allows you to find the folks who didn’t like your page through Detailed Targeting. The choices are endless.

Facebook retargeting can be used in a number of ways and is based on your advertising goals, or objectives. There are four main goals in retargeting ads: build awareness, reminder advertising, close a sale, and invite repeat business. When retargeting is used in conjunction with your advertising goals, ads become very effective and drive your return on investment up.
In the future, we can expect even more great tools for video marketing from Facebook. They have already expanded into creative video tools with virtual reality devices like Oculus Rift, and have goals to become the top video marketing site on the Internet, surpassing YouTube. Video is one of the most powerful tools available to advertisers right now, as we’ll explore more in a later chapter of this book.
Impress potential customers with rich, 360-degree video: Give your customers a whole new way to see your company through their newsfeed. With this tool, the user is in control of the video and can move around the room by tilting their phone or clicking around in it on their desktop. This is a great way for hotels and other location-based businesses to provide a powerful visual. Here below you can see a 360-degree video shared by Mark Zuckerberg(Video only works with the latest version of Chrome, Firefox)
Once you've set up the Facebook pixel, the pixel will fire when someone takes an action on your website. Examples of actions include adding an item to their shopping cart or making a purchase. The pixel receives these actions, or events, which you can view on your Facebook pixel page in Events Manager. From there, you'll be able to see the actions that your customers take. You'll also have options to reach those customers again through future Facebook ads.

You already know that video is imperative. It used to be one aspect of your marketing strategy, but now you need an entire strategy just for your videos! People watch countless hours of video every day, and YouTube is the largest search engine after its sibling Google. Whether it’s on Facebook, Instagram or some other platform, video is not going anywhere.

The next step in the process is to consider the flow and the content people are first drawn to on your website and build an audience along the points of conversation, not just based on time. This is especially helpful for content-heavy sites, or for products that are heavily researched and have longer sales cycles. In a longer sales cycle, you can expect more emotion and authority-building to be involved along the way.
Hi Rob, thanks for the advice. I have been playing around with Facebook ads for around 6 months now and despite the fact that I get some good traffic at reasonable prices I am still getting a high bounce rate and a relatively low conversion rate. I think part of the issue may be that I have not optimized for mobile/desktop so I will take your advice and put a bit more focus on making the ads work better for different technology.

But there is a problem with Facebook's Friend Lists feature: Nobody uses it. According to CEO Mark Zuckerberg, just 5 percent of Facebook users had made a list as of October 2010. Now, this isn't a company that lets its technology stagnate—witness Facebook's recent push into e-mail with the Messages service, introduced as an apparent competitor with Gmail. After the failure of Lists, Facebook decided to start over and created Facebook Groups, a new friend-dividing feature that uses an opt-out strategy as a way of reaching widespread adoption. Google Analytics is an extremely powerful analytics tool for Facebook advertising. Advertisers can gain a lot more information from Google Analytics than just a user’s location, gender, interests, and device types. Google Analytics is a reliable way to track conversions, which show you the entire path a user took to convert. This level of information can then be used to create custom audiences with targeted ads, increasing your ROI and conversions.
Customers seldom go to a website and purchase after their first visit. It’s even more rare for a customer to convert after clicking on just one ad, especially if they’re unfamiliar with your brand or your price point is relatively high. In most cases, there’s a long journey to get customers to convert and Facebook is uniquely positioned to handle the buyer’s journey along each step in a way that other channels can’t. Are Facebook Ads Worth It?
Let’s use one of my favorite Italian restaurant in Ekkamai, called La Tana. The marketing goal for this restaurant was to increase patronage during lunchtime (between 11-2pm). FB ads are perfect for restaurants. Because, let’s face it, everyone on Facebook likes to eat. When targeting your audience, you want to focus on your ideal or current customer(s).

Facebook retargeting campaigns can be used by nearly every Facebook advertiser with a Java-enabled website with steady traffic, but are best suited for online-based businesses, such as ecommerce. This is because online businesses typically have a high volume of site visitors, giving the advertiser a lot of insightful information from the Facebook Pixel. Instagram Advertising Costs - How much will you pay
We have already been talking about how Facebook marketing can be an innovative way of taking your business on the global platform. Every year, Facebook marketing strategies change for the benefit of eCommerce marketers. Facebook wants to be your one-stop shop for news, products, and updates from your friends. With the world changing a mile a minute, it’s hard to scale, differentiate yourself, and maintain trust in the ever-changing marketing world. It is better for the eCommerce marketers to stay updated with the Facebook marketing trends for the coming year. The more you plan ahead, the better equipped you feel to manage those changes when they happen.
$5-10 dollar a day is a feasible budget for most small or local business such a La Tana to get their feet wet in FB advertising. After you have gotten the right converting ad formula down, feel free to increase your budget an extra $5-10 dollars a day. Of course, the higher the budget, the greater your reach. I recently worked on a Facebook ad project for a supplement company. Their budget was  a whopping $100 per day(estimated daily reach of 8,000-21,000 people).

Facebook ads are great because unlike traditional advertising, such as billboards and television commercials, advertisers can determine which ads show to which groups of people. These groups of people are referred to as “audiences” on Facebook, and every audience should see ads tailored to them, which closes the gap between potential customer and customer. Audiences can be segmented in a number of ways from their location to their interests.

Recently Facebook release retargeting features to allow users set up Facebook retargeting, or remarketing as some people call it. In the past, you could only set up Facebook retargeting through larger advertisers. As a result, there’s not a lot of information out for a small business to set up retargeting on Facebook themselves. In this post I’ll show you step by step how to set up Facebook retargeting.
Set out by creating as many custom audience buckets in Facebook as you can brainstorm and allow them to start populating. Not all of them will perform and some may take a long time to fill. You’ll have to make adjustments as you go along. Susan notes that the minimum number of people you can run a Facebook ad set to is 1000, so she often combines ad sets that are smaller than 1000 until she populates one that reaches the minimum. (Editor’s Note: The audio of this interview mis-quotes the minimum audience size as 200. This article reflects the correct minimum audience size.)

Facebook retargeting lets advertisers discover and reach warm leads. Using the Facebook Pixel, advertisers track their site visitors and their actions to build audiences and better understand visitors. Campaigns are then designed to speak to the audience and display ads on those visitor’s Facebook pages, proving highly effective in that statistically warm leads convert best.
Only a single account is all that you need: Having FB shop on your store makes it easier for you to display the changes like the modified button colors, addition or deletion of products and more. The moment you make the changes on your store, it automatically updates your Facebook store, too. Hence, you don’t have to manage the different inventories on your store and Facebook store separately. Selling B2B to Millennials? Forget it.
The tricky part with Facebook is that it only lets you operate within predefined targeting options. You can, for example, target people who have visited your website within a defined period of time (the last 7 days, 30 days, etc.), however, there’s still no option to target repeat visitors who have been to your website several times but haven’t finished their purchase yet.
If a prospect has downloaded the white paper but hasn’t requested a demo, then you would want to advertise the demo. If they’ve seen the demo and haven’t signed up for a free trial, then that’s the message to send them next. Similar to establishing audiences based on the Time Lag report, create separate custom audiences and align the messaging with the way people have already interacted with your site and your brand.
