All about FaceBook Marketing with retargeting

This is a very good question. From my experience, it doesn’t matter what industry you are in, or how much marketing budget you have. I would always suggest that if it’s the first time running the ad – Budget $5-10 a day(estimated average daily reach of 540-2,700 people) and run the ad for 7 days. This will give you feedback on how the ad is converting, and how it’s resonating with your audience.

If you are to believe the stats about the Facebook advertising, you should take a look at this study done by Sprout Social. According to this study, 93% of marketers use Facebook advertising regularly which translates to about 3 million businesses that use Facebook to market their business. Furthermore, 70% of these businesses are outside the US. That’s not it, in the year 2017, Facebook earned $7.68 billion in Q1. Facebook App Setup for desktop apps (2018)

To identify topics, we turned to our two monthly features—“Topics to Watch” and “Hot Topics”—and examined their combined findings over the previous year. Timing can also be seasonal. Retailers that do most of their business during the Q4 gifting season can create a custom audience targeting those who don’t buy from them year-round. Susan uses the example of women visiting a men’s retailer site based on clicks from a holiday gift guide. Knowing that traffic from this particular piece of content is likely driven by people who aren’t shopping for themselves, you can retarget this audience during other gift-giving times of the year such as Father’s Day. For example, an auto dealership gets a large number of visitors who search for specific makes and models, but they do not click the call to action “schedule a test drive.” The dealership uses this information to create ads that provide additional sales information on the cars the visitors were looking at, which further helps develop the user’s interest in the vehicle, leading them closer to converting users to take action, such as schedule a test drive or value trade-in.
If you have hundreds or even thousands of Facebook friends, it's easy to cross over into too-much-information territory. After all, who wants their parents or boss to see everything they put up for their friends? That's why Facebook has long allowed users to create Friend Lists, which let people manage their privacy settings for different groups of friends. APPLE PARK - The Spaceship
For example, a ski and bike company should group users by the main product types the business offers, such as skiers, snowboarders, mountain bikers, and road cyclists. A customer who previously purchased a road bike would be a good candidate for a promotion on new clipless road bike pedals, whereas the customer who rented a mountain bike won’t likely be interested in road biking gear. Advertisers use the information from the Facebook Pixel to better understand their audience. They can then create ads tailored to their audience using this information. By understanding site visitors, advertisers not only have a warm audience that is more likely to convert, but they can also design ads specifically to them. This gives advertisers the ability to create ad messaging that makes more of an impact, leading to more sales and a higher return on ad spend.

Facebook limits the maximum amount of time that people will stay in a custom audience, based on website traffic, to 180 days. After this time period, those in the website custom audience will be removed unless they revisit the website. You can stay top-of-mind by simply creating a custom audience of people who visited your URL within the past few months and run remarketing ads before they’re removed by Facebook.

If you're an admin of a group, you can delete or archive it. Groups are deleted when they have no members. Deleting a group is a permanent action that cannot be reversed. When a group is archived, it won't appear in search results to non-members, and no new members can join the group. Learn more about the differences between deleting and archiving a group.

Here’s the truth: 96% of visitors that land on your website are not ready to buy. They come to your site, wander around for a while, then leave. The worst part? Most of them probably forget about your website as soon as they close the tab. So, how do you remind your website visitors about your ecommerce store and keep in touch with them until they’re ready to become your customers? That’s right—you use Facebook retargeting ads.
The way that consumers communicate is changing rapidly, as new tools are available that allow for quick, meaningful interactions. Instant messaging tools for mobile devices have grown exponentially, and along with them, tools like Facebook Messenger (with over 800 million users) and the Facebook-owned WhatsApp (with over 1 billion users) are growing too.

What stands true, though, is that after a week of retargeting, you may want to stop focusing on immediate purchases and aim for longer-term relationships with your website’s visitors. That is, you should try to keep in touch with your potential customers until they’re ready to convert instead of trying to convince them to convert and then giving up when they don’t.
Fortunately, cutting down on unwanted notifications is simple. First, click on Account on the top right of the Facebook home page, then select Account Settings in the drop-down menu. From there, click the Notifications tab and scroll down to Groups. This will bring up a page that allows you to curate what sort of Group-related activity results in e-mail alerts. Another level of notifications can be filtered out by opening up the page for an individual group, then clicking the Edit Settings button on the top right. My top FB cover pics for 2013.
However, businesses that aren’t online-based, but have multi-page or content-rich websites that would find user data insightful, should also use retargeting. For example, a winery has two main types of consumers: those interested in tours and tasting and those interesting in hiring their venue for private events. The winery could use retargeting to segment site visitors by their interest, and then display ads specific to each of those user’s interests. 2019 Facebook Business Page Tutorial (For Beginners) Step by step

Customer service is essential, but not everyone feels comfortable talking to a real person on the phone or has the time to do it over email. That’s what makes chatbots so convenient. Naturally, shorter videos get more complete views. This is why GIFs have become increasingly valuable. As noted by WordStream, not only does it stand out from static images, it does not require the same amount of investment, effort-wise compared to videos, carousel, and lead ads. Additionally, you can even repurpose existing video assets as Facebook GIF ads—making it a win on repeat.
There are a number of different ways to use Facebook retargeting, from showing ads of products a user has shown interest in on your website to promoting a special offer to recent site visitors to incite sales. Every business will use Facebook retargeting differently, depending on their business and advertising goals. For example, a local yoga studio could use Facebook ads as a reminder to those who last registered for a class two weeks ago to encourage return customers. How To Get Facebook To Change Your Post Link Image
For the Facebook retargeting pixel to work, it needs to be installed on the back-end of all the relevant pages you want to track, create audiences, and remarket with. If you’re using Facebook ads to drive visitors to a click-through post-click landing page where you sell a course, you might want to install it on that page, the following checkout page, and the “thank you” page after that. When you A/B test your ads. The goal is to see which image, video, audience, font, color, ad copy, etc gets you the highest click through rate(CTR) or call to action(CTA). I typically perform A/B testing on two images at a time. Running too many variations can interfere with results. After running these ads simultaneously for 5 days, we learned that Ad B had 55 clicks to the website, while Ad A had only 5.
Whether someone is ready to book a trip or is just looking for travel inspiration, match their intent with items from your travel catalog. If they were browsing hotels but didn’t make a reservation—or if they were looking at flights but didn’t book a trip—travel ads let you show them relevant ads based on their specific dates, destinations and other trip details.
Every business using Facebook retargeting ads should use the Facebook Pixel Helper to create more effective ads and increase their return on ad spend. The Facebook Pixel Helper is a troubleshooting tool used to monitor and maintain the Facebook Pixel functionality. It is a free and easy-to-use Google Chrome extension that takes the guesswork out of whether or not pixels are input and running correctly.

If a prospect has downloaded the white paper but hasn’t requested a demo, then you would want to advertise the demo. If they’ve seen the demo and haven’t signed up for a free trial, then that’s the message to send them next. Similar to establishing audiences based on the Time Lag report, create separate custom audiences and align the messaging with the way people have already interacted with your site and your brand.
In the media section you’ll decide on the image that you want to use in your ad. The recommended size for this image is 1080 pixels by 1080 pixels. (Though this would depend on your ad placements) The image MUST contain LESS THAN 20% text! (If you plan on using text in your image, Facebook has a very cool tool that will help you work around the 20% text overlay rule)
Retargeting and remarketing effectively share the same goal of closing sales using warm leads. The major difference is the delivery of ad delivery. Remarketing usually uses email to contact warm leads, whereas retargeting uses ads such as Facebook to reach warm leads. Retargeting tends to outperform remarketing, as users are more receptive to Facebook ads than undesired emails.
For example, a local art gallery owner had been struggling to target audiences on Facebook, as they didn’t have a clear ideal customer. Previously, the best way was to target users who had liked a similar gallery’s Facebook page. However, using the data from the Facebook Pixel, they were able to create lookalike audiences. Now they target Facebook users who match their average site visitor, helping to expand their reach and gain the awareness of new customers.

Start with a brand awareness ad that’s simply meant to introduce you to your audience. Sure, some may click and convert immediately, but there’s a good chance many won’t. That’s ok though- you can run a retargeting campaign that shows your ad to users who saved or engaged with your previous ad. At this point, you can focus on conversions or lead generation a little more heavily. Tracking conversions on a website with AdWords

You’ll have to add an additional piece of code to the back-end of your website, but once you do, your Facebook reports will let you know detailed information about the behavior of your visitors and how it’s affecting your campaign ROI. And you can tie your pixel to fire on those behaviors and, then create remarketing campaigns based on those events.

There’s far greater complexity to people’s buying habits and actions beyond the fact they’ve visited a website within the last month. Susan recommends studying the buying and lead acquisition patterns for your brand. If you find that most of your customers tend to convert within a few days of visiting your website, then you would be paying for 30 days worth of Facebook impressions that are no longer relevant.
It’s possible to further refine your custom audiences by combining any of the ad sets created—based on the time lag data, content grouping, and location in the sales funnel—and use this information to set exclusions within Facebook around any pairings. Most of the time, this allows you to discover a variety of different segments. However, it can also help define smaller audiences and the best piece of content to show them next.
